Farmer Brothers Recognized for Leadership on Climate Action

CDP Awards Farmer Brothers Position on 2017 Climate A List

Farmer Bros. Co. (NASDAQ: FARM) (“Farmer Brothers” or the “Company”), a national coffee roaster, wholesaler and distributor of coffee, tea and culinary products, announced today that it has been identified as a global leader in the corporate response to climate change and has been awarded a position on this year’s Climate A List by CDP, the non-profit global environmental disclosure platform.

Farmer Brothers is among 5% of companies participating in CDP’s climate change program to be featured on the 2017 Climate A List. This is in recognition of its actions in the last reporting year to cut emissions, mitigate climate risks and develop the low-carbon economy.

“Sustainability has been a critical part of our business strategy for some time, and we have expanded our sustainability efforts every year,” commented Molly Laverty, Director of Sustainability for Farmer Brothers. “Achieving this level of recognition is gratifying and it reinforces the efforts we employ every day throughout our supply chain to address climate change.”

CDP’s Executive Chair Paul Dickinson said: “Congratulations to all the companies that made it onto the Climate A List this year. It’s inspiring to see so many taking bold action to mitigate the risks of climate change and grasp the opportunities that come with the transition to a sustainable economy. As we approach a tipping point on environmental action, business is absolutely central to making that transition happen.”

The 2017 Climate A List is comprised of 106 global companies, and is published alongside similar lists for corporate leadership on water and forests. Thousands of companies submit annual climate disclosures to CDP for independent assessment against its scoring methodology.  The list and full company scores are available on CDP’s website: https://www.cdp.net/en/scores-2017.
